Home Base

By setting your 'home address', rhub can tailor various geo-spatial features to be more applicable to you. You can make this information as vague or as specific as you want.

Additionally, you can use rhub's presence features to set your current location as 'home'. People you have allowed to view your home address will be able to see your address, others will just be able see that you have marked yourself as 'at home'. Of course, if they are't allowed to view your presence information, they won't see that either.

[edit] Changing

To edit your home base, visit your Profile (http://rhub.net/edit/profile.php) and select 'Home Base' (or just click here). From there, fill out the form and click 'Save' when you're done.

[edit] Using

Once set, rhub can use your home base as a special type of location - 'home'. In features such as Transport, you'll be able to send !bus home to ask rhub how to get home from where you are. You can also use the 'home' alias when you're setting your current location such as @home.

[edit] How is the address used?

Information tailoring

For example, if you view a location that has an address set, rhub will automatically trim off bits of the address that match yours. So if the location is in the same suburb as you, you'll be just be shown it's street instead of all possible details. Rhub will also use your home address as defaults for when you create a new location description.

Informing others

If you've allowed friends or contacts to see your home base, they'll see a little pin on the rhub map for your home base. If you set your current location to home (@home), people you've allowed to see your presence information will see you're at home, but not necessarily where 'home' might be.

[edit] Privacy

You can set who can see your address under your profile's privacy settings. See the Privacy topic for more information.
