Messages, Silencing

Message silencing lets you temporarily stop all incoming rhub messages to your phone, email or IM. Each silence you set has a time period, for example eight hours, and when it expires, you'll automatically start getting messages again. It's a handy "set and forget" thing when you need a bit of silence.

[edit] Using the Web

Visit your account page (click the 'me!' option in the top right of the screen), click Message Forwarding and follow the link to silencing.

Once there, you can set a new silence period, or remove a silence you've already set.

[edit] Using the Console

You can also turn silencing on and off via the console using the !silence command. The basic syntax is:

!silence [time period]

For example, "!silence 4 hours", "!silence 1 day" or "!silence 40 mins"

For more information on using this command, please see the Silence Console Command topic.
