You are mutal friends with someone when you have them added as a contact, and tagged as 'friend', and they in return have done the same for you.
Mutal friends have a special status within rhub, and often you can grant them special privileges, such as viewing private information you don't want to share with others. As such, you should be careful how you dole out these permissions and who is a mutal friend of yours.
