Presence, Notifying

Contents

[edit] Presence Notifications

When you set your location using the @ command rhub will notify your mutal friends. If you set a status message at the same time, e.g @cafe: Working over a latte, rhub can also forward this out too.

Your friends will get a message like this: Bob is @cafe - Working over a latte

[edit] How do I do it?

Simply set your location using the console's @ command ([[Presence, Location|read more about this command). If you have contacts tagged as 'friend' and they have you tagged as a 'friend', they will get the notification.

[edit] How is the notification sent?

It depends. For mutal friends that frequent that same location, or are currently in the same suburb, they will get the notification as a SMS, IM or web-popup. For the rest, they will only get the notification via IM or a web-popup - that is, they have to be online to get it.

[edit] How can I not notify people?

Add an underscore '_' to your @ command, for example: @cafe_ or @cafe: Working over a latte_ will not notify anyone, yet still be available if people want to check online.
