The notification methods setting determine how rhub will notify you if required.
The user interface for this is rather simple. List your preferred methods in order, with a space in between each. Unrecognised options will be ignored. See the tooltip help, or Notification Methods topic for a list of which options you can choose.
Let's assume you have your phone and MSN account registered with rhub, so it is possible for it to SMS you, IM you or email you.
With the setting 'im email', rhub will message you via MSN if you are available or otherwise send an email.
With the setting 'phone', rhub will only ever SMS you.
And finally, with the setting 'im phone email', rhub will message you via MSN if you are available, if not will attempt to SMS you, and if rhub's SMS service is down will finally email.
Note that with the 'phone' and 'email' methods, rhub cannot reliably determine which to choose. It can't know that you have your phone on you, or if it should email instead. In these cases, rhub will simply try whichever is listed first, and hope for the best. If the service that provides that functionality is unavailable, rhub will try the next available option.
